Politics By Design: The Art Of Inspiration
This poster exhibition reflects on America's 2008 Presidential Election in anticipation of a historic inauguration. The graphically designed posters have been gathered electronically, and aptly examine the impact of technology - specifically that of the internet and its affect on the election. Graphic designers and illustrators from all across America submitted various designs. What emerges from the compilation of these selected works is a new genre within the Obama iconographic machine, one with such striking dynamism it could only be achieved through technology. Politics By Design seeks to present these works of inspiration in a gallery context with the hopes of conjuring new dialogue in a new era.

Four Perspectives: Washington's Election Night Celebration - Caught on Camera
Amidst the flurry of celebration, per the announcement of Barack Obama's victory as America's 44th President, some amazing and heartfelt moments were captured as enduring still images. We invited four local photographers to present images from their experience on the night of November 4, 2008. Areas of activity such as, Adams Morgan, U Street. NW and the White House (16th Street, NW) were captured as a rainy and joyous celebration of all races and ages alike. The ramifications of the newly elected president are just beginning to sink in to the consciousness of Washington's residents. Images by Steven Cummings, Maria Izaurralde, Violetta Manavis and Jati Lindsay give us the viewer a small glimpse into what that night truly meant! This presentation will be in conjunction with the poster art exhibition.
